The Studio

PetMinimal began in 2021 with a small problem and a big irritation: a beautiful flat, and a dog bowl that looked like a toy.

We are a design studio and a shop. Everything we sell we have drawn, prototyped and lived with — usually for longer than is commercially sensible. Our workshop is in Amsterdam; our timber comes from FSC-certified mills in Denmark and Portugal, our ceramics from a family studio outside Porto, our wool undyed from a spinner in Yorkshire.

What we make

Furniture, feeding, textiles, toys and travel. Five categories, one material language: solid timber, glazed stoneware, undyed wool, waxed canvas and powder-coated steel. No plastic where a better material exists. No print where a form will do.

How we work

Small batches, made to order where we can. We would rather sell you one object that lasts twelve years than four that last three. Every piece is designed to be repaired — we stock spares for everything we have ever sold, including the pieces we have discontinued.

The studio

Eleven people. Two dogs (Otto and Pim), one studio cat (Bruun) who tests every cushion and approves roughly a third of them.
